As you see, all the settings are very simple:
choose an element from the list or put a flag at check box - that is all !
The explanation is required for the only one parameter - "Full
Screen". If you turn on this option then all your pictures will be up
to size of your screen, but this, of course, influences on the quality of
the graphics

Working
with the program from the command line
In "Photoslider" format of the command line
differs from usual transfer of parameters in Windows application's
operational enviroment by nothing. If after symbol is a return slash
"/"then all symbols in the command line will be recognized as
keys. In total, the program has ten parameters, and they all are listest
below:
/DDirectory, where Directory - it is a path to a
folder with your pictures. Note: if you have spaces in your path's
description, then you need take it into quotes.
/LListFile, where ListFile is a file with the
list of pictures and descriptions.
/S - Auto show, that means slide-show can be
started at once. For example, it can be started from CD-DISK's autorun.
/R+ or /R - an autoreversion.
/1N, where N is number of the first effect
/PN, where N is a pause between frames
/CN, change of pictures, where N=0 means
"in order", N=1 - "random"
/F+ or /F - full screen picture or
original size.
/EN, change of effects, where N=1 means
"not to change", N=2 - "in order", N=3 -
"random"
/@+ or /@ include-exclude complicated
effects
For example:
PS.exe /1D:\My\PhotoSlider\Rus\MyPhotos.txt /r- /s /1129 /p1 /c1 /f-
/e3 /@+

Creation of slide-show
To create a simple slide-show of your familie's album
you need only scanned material and some free minutes. The creation of the
slide-show starts with the defenition of a place, where pictures have to
be put. Previously you should copy all pictures, you want to use in your
show, to the separated folder. Windows-system's standart element for
navigation over your folders is in the left part of the screen. Make
current a folder where you keep your pictures. After that, all files in it
will be maped in the filelist. You can see preview of any picture you want
- just tag any file. If you have in your photoalbum a lot of pictures in
different formats then you can select a filter to map them in the list.
For example, at first you want to list only pictures in BMP format and
then only in JPG etc. Now you need to sort pictures by name, size, date
and etc. You can do it - just click the shortcut and select item
"Sort by"and appropriate mask for sorting. It is necessary to
notice that, if you sort out pictures and only then set a random order of
the show, then your sorting won't be taken into account. Pay attention to
it. Now, let's pass to slide-show's settings. There are three panels in
the menu options, each of which contains parameters for adjusting one or
another possibility of the slide-show: view, effects, musical support. All
the settings are plain and clear – you’ll manage it yourself. Adjust
parameters and go back to the main window. Now your show is ready to be
started. And even now you can see the results of your work. After you quit
the program, there would be created some files in the folder the program
started (Phslider.dat and PhSlider.pth) - these are configurational and
history file. The next time you run the program, all settings and path to
your pictures will be loaded from these files. That is why, having run the
program next time you can begin right from viewing slide-show and don't
worry about settings anymore.
Besides that you can create a shortcut and use the
program from the command line. To do that user needs only to click mouse
on shortcut and show will start immediately! If you want to record a CD
with your pictures on it then all you need to do - put the program and
pictures in one place. In this case the program will store a relative path
(without disk name) and your show can be started from CD. If you need
slide-show's autorun then you should create file autorun.bat, where will
be indicated command line to run the show and also create file autorun.inf
in the root of CD, which contains such lines in [autorun]:[autorun] block.
Open=autorun.bat
You can also use command line's parameters right there.
For that, put the whole expression in quotes. That is ALL. Your first
photoalbum and CD are ready. If you want to create more professional
products you can use such applications as Macromedia Director 6.x or
HyperMethod. Nevertheless the program Photoslider will be the irreplacable
assistant.
Good luck!
